Enduring Understanding
Creating a prototype, getting feedback on areas for improvement, and then refining your work to create a new prototype is a powerful process for developing an effective product.
Success Criteria
- Thinking
- purpose, audience, and beneficial effect of your app is clearly identified
- clear evidence of revision based on feedback
- Knowledge
- you are able to navigate the prototyping environment (Sketch) effectively
- you create a well-organized Sketch project
- you develop the prototype over time, sharing a brief screen recording of your work for each day until the end of the module
- Application
- you make use of standard user-interface elements for your intended platform (iOS, iPadOS, or macOS), unless there is a clear need to develop custom UI
- how your application works is plain – someone new should be able to operate your prototype and understand exactly how it works without any verbal prompting
- your application prototype must plausibly address the problem you are trying to solve for others (as defined in your purpose, audience, and beneficial effect statements)
- Communication
- when sharing your prototype with an individual or group, you can confidently explain why you made decisions about how the app interface works
